A 3rd ship for Resorts World Cruises

The Asian "cruise tiger" is starting to roar back to life!

In a really interesting development, and one which shows that the Asian cruise market is starting to show its potential once more, Resorts World Cruises will add a 3rd ship to their fleet, when the STAR SCORPIO debuts out of Singapore from March 2025. The current 'Pacific Explorer' will be sold by P&O Cruises Australia to the Resorts World fleet and will undergo a $50m transformation before debuting. The ship, originally built for Princess Cruises as the Dawn Princess back in 1997.

The Star Scorpio is scheduled to have multiple embarkation ports, in Thailand, Indonesia and Malaysia, including for the first time, homeporting out of Vietnam. This multi-country approach will allow Resorts World to develop in these Asian countries building a high potential new guest base. Exciting times in cruise retail for an area of the world which shows such significant potential!
