The True Secret of Cruise Retailing


Hello again, so let's carry on our journey on these blogs of going into depth on the key aspects of cruise retailing. Today I wanted to share with you a recent speech I made and hopefully it will give you some further insight into a really useful part of your cruise retail knowledge, particularly if you work onboard, and one of the main reasons that we formed the Cruise Retail Academy.


So, when we think about the key ingredients of what you need for great cruise retail

success, what do we think about?


Here are a few.... Onboard retail team, onboard shops, product category selection, brand experience duty free pricing, cruise experience....


Well, all of these are of course correct. They are all important parts of a strong cruise retailing setup.


But another one which is overlooked too often is one of the most important that I can think of. It is a secret! But what is it?

I went on stage a few weeks ago at the DFNI cruise conference in Istanbul to talk through what I consider to be the most important secret of cruise retail and why if you are new to this industry you probably have never heard about it!
